The 6 star hotel resort Soneva Kiri is located on Koh Kood, an island in the Gulf of Thailand. At this unique site, 24H-architecture designed a series of ecological icons to contribute to Six Senses’ high ambitions in design and ecology. Most prominent is The Children Activity and Learning Centre, which will provide visiting children a wide range of entertaining activities as well as raise the level of ecological awareness with them. This Den provides an Auditorium/Cinema for films, lectures and plays, a library with books on permaculture and local traditions, an Art room, a Music room and Fashion room, thus giving children both creative and ecological education while playing.

Today, our world is going through a big economy crisis. A lot of investors in real estate go into bankruptcy, and only few of the big companies still stand. It affects the confidence of investors seriously, many investors choose to deposit their money into the bank but not invest in real estate. But hero always born in a hard time. If you make a good decision and invest in a real estate at present, I believe you will earn a big sum of money back. Following steps will increase your confidence.

Step1
The fed mortgage rate has been gone down. The fed mortgage rate is forecasted at 7% for 2009, and it is lower now. Keep your wants and needs close to heart and use your mind to find the right home now. If it is a smart decision, go bigger to stay at home. If you can afford it, now is the time to get a larger mortgage because it will be at a lesser rate than it will again anytime soon. Seize the rates of today.

Step2
The risk conceal the opportunities. Think of the current economy as a home sale of which you get to take advantage. Soon enough the economy will recover and you will have an excellent home and better mortgage rate than all those too shocked to act.Our economy has everyone terrified, but now is a great time to go after the home of dreams. Use the downturn to make things look up for you. This is quick set of tips for buying a home during a recession.

Step3
Good location exsit everywhere. You can find some great location for investment, and you only need to take advantage of a good deal and buy the house near a good school. Remember to choose to buy the house in good neighborhoods, even if the less attractive neighborhoods offer better deals, because there are many good location on other places. All of these will be benefit for your investment.

Step4
Taxes are paid back. If you apply some policies of reducing taxes at this time, you will get much more chances to success.Like china, their government has begun to save the market of real estate, and they are going to reduce much tax for flipper and buyer.

I’ve been reading a fascinating book by Dr B C Wolverton about house plants that purify the air in your home and office. It’s called ‘How to grow fresh air’.

The EPA state that indoor air pollution is up to 5 times more than outdoor! So do yourselves a favour, get up from your computer right now and throw open your windows!
I guess with double glazing, insulation and wall to wall carpets, along with our desire to fill our homes with new furnishings, MDF furniture and electronic gadgets we are polluting our homes as well as our environment. Add to that the fact that we spend 90% of our time indoors and it’s a sure recipe for ’sick building syndrome’ and multiple chemical sensitivity.

Respiratory infections are a well known consequence of poorly maintained air and air conditioning systems. I bet you can all recount times when one person in an office has succumbed to a cough or cold and within 2 weeks everyone has had it.

Low relative humidity levels are also associated with poor indoor air quality. During the winter months especially, humidity drops well below the ideal range. Cold winter air is normally dry and when you add your heating system into the mix you’ve got the perfect conditions for colds, allergic attacks and asthma.

Well, there’s good news from Dr Wolverton! He did some lengthy studies on house plants and their ability to purify the air.

So, if you end up with colds every winter or fatigue, headaches and sinus congestion every day, perhaps all you need is a visit to the garden centre rather than some toxic over the counter medication!

You may remember from your biology lessons at school that plants breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen during the day. This increases humidity which helps to improve the quality of the air. According to Dr Wolverton, some plants also absorb pollutants from the air such as formaldehyde, toulene and benzene.

Following research, the recommendation is that you use 15 to 18 good-sized houseplants in 6 to 8-inch diameter containers to improve air quality in an average 1,800 square foot house.

The best plants for removing trichloroethylene were Gerbera daisy (Gerbera janesonll), Marginata (Dracaena marginata) and Peace Lily (Spethiphylium “Muana Loa”)

The best for removing benzene were Gerbera daisy (Gerbera janesonll), Pot Mum (chrysanthemum morifollum), and Peace Lily (Spethiphylium “Muana Loa”)

The best plants for removing formaldehyde were Bamboo Palm (chamaedorea selirizll), Janet Craig (Dracaena deremensis “Janet Craig”) and Mother-In-Law’s tongue ( sansevieria laurentii).

Now you have a great excuse to indulge yourself in some of nature’s finest gifts and be sure to give your friends plants whenever they move into a new home. It could be the best gift they receive!

Click on the book to buy and learn all about the amazing benefit of house plants!

NexGen Enviro Systems Inc. is an industrial supplier of solvent recyclers to all industries for almost two decades. These years of experience coupled with the over 8,000 units sold in the United States alone, make NexGen the leader in the solvent recycler market. The specialized systems offer multiple features for the needs of individual users. Organizations who require a small scale solvent recycler can be offered machines in the 2.6 through 11 gallon volumes. Typical customers in this range may be surfboard manufacturers, collision repair companies, furniture refinishers etc. The typical solvent recycler used by these smaller volume users will be a batch processor with Teflon coated tank for easy cleanup. This solvent recycler will provide the user with clean, recovered product in 4 to 5 hours and keep them in EPA compliance for handling hazardous waste.

NexGens mid range customers will require a solvent recycler with slightly more sophistication and throughput. For these customers NexGen offers a solvent recycler with volumes of 16 or 24 gallon throughput and features which include auto load impulse pumps, normal or explosion proof electronics and touch screen programming and vacuum for high boiling solvents. This typical customer may be in a wide variety of industries, who never the less are interested in reducing their EPA exposure and saving on disposal costs associated with service companies.

For the large scale customer who will require a more hands free environment with their solvent recycler, NexGen provides 37, 53, 105 and 160 gallon models all in varying levels of sophistication and automation. These units are capable of working in single, multiple or continuous modes. In addition the user organization who require a solvent recycler built in to a process environment can easily be accommodated with features that include auto fill, auto unload of the waste and constant monitoring of the environment by the micro processor. Even the maintenance needed is displayed for the operator on the programming screen of the solvent recycler. This type of solvent recycler is currently in use by mid range to large scale manufacturers in aerospace, electronics, pharmaceuticals, furniture and cabinet manufacturing, package printing and many other disciplines. Many of these organizations are experiencing paybacks of several months to 1 year which easily justifies the expenditure on an in-house solvent recycler over service company expenses.

Companies are increasingly searching for ways to reduce cost in today’s challenging environment and an easy to use solvent recycler offers quick payback with the addition of a “good neighbor” profile with an environmentally friendly profile. Several of NexGen’s larger customers have won the “Governor’s Trophy for Pollution Reduction” in their respective states by the use of their solvent recycler in conjunction with a carefully managed hazardous waste reduction program.

NexGen Enviro Systems Inc. is a supplier of solvent recyclers to all industries struggling with safe and efficient solvent waste stream handling. In a world of ever increasing cost for petroleum based solvents, corporate management is continuously looking for ways to reduce expensive solvent waste disposal. In addition the replacement expense for reusable solvent amounts to paying over and over for the same product.

The large solvent user can maximize savings by installing a NexGen Continuous Operation solvent recycler. These “hands free” solvent recyclers are easily integrated with industrial process systems allowing totally enclosed handling of waste stream to clean distillate. Available in varying capacity handling, the ECO Continuous solvent recycler can process in excess of 650 gallons per day of waste solvent with no operator intervention. The system monitors itself and informs the user of maintenance requirements.

ECO Continuous solvent recyclers are recovering waste solvent streams worldwide, providing clean solvent plus a major reduction in waste handling and disposal costs. The systems provide solvent recovery with a minimum of personnel commitment. The heavy duty design offers unlimited solvent recycling and cost reduction.

Companies considering the acquisition of a solvent recycler should compare their current cost of purchasing expensive solvents including the total cost of disposal with the one time capital investment in a solvent recycler. In most cases they will find that purchasing a solvent recycler will have a very respectable payback, often less than a year. This allows the organization to reduce the continuous expense of solvent replacement since virtually all waste solvent streams are recoverable. When the never ending cost of Service Company billing is analyzed against the one time acquisition of a solvent recycler, the benefit is readily apparent.

What is waste management? There is more to waste management than collecting rubbish and dumping it at landfill. Although this is a vital step in the process, there is more to it than that! This article will address the steps involved in the cycle of waste management and will hopefully give a greater understanding to the topic.

Waste Management flows in a cycle: Monitoring, Collection, Transportation, Processing, Disposal / Recycle. Through these steps a company can effectively and responsibly manage waste output and their positive effect they have on the environment.

Monitoring is identifying the waste management needs, identifying recycling opportunities and ways to minimize waste output, and reviewing how waste minimization is progressing. Through keeping records of the different waste streams, a customer can see the results of their efforts in becoming more environmentally friendly, and a more efficient business.

Collection involves the logistical organization to guarantee that bin containers will not overfill and waste sit time does not become too long. The correct bin container size and service frequency is a must to prevent overspill or excessive smell. The correct bins for different wastes must be available with sticker and bin colour identification. Locks, chains, lids and bars prevent public access and non-trained personnel putting rubbish in the incorrect bins.

Cooperation between the waste company and customer is vital. Bins must be accessible to the truck driver at the agreed times. Access to work premises outside work hours will cause an issue if unaddressed. Bin wheels can allow customers to move bins from convenient areas to serviceable locations.

Transportation is the organizing of waste transport vehicles with the authorization and ability to transport the specified wastes from a customer’s work residence to landfill or processing plant. A waste must be transported by the vehicle designed for it. For example, general waste requires a vehicle with thicker compacter walls, to that of a cardboard and paper waste transporting vehicle. Therefore, a customer may require a series of vehicles to meet their waste management needs.

Vehicles, drivers, and companies need licenses and approval in certain Council Areas to transport waste. EPA standards need to be upheld as well as General Public Safety. Safety standards are vital to the transportation of clinical and hazardous wastes. Drivers must undergo training for emergency circumstances that may arise.

Processing involves the separation of recyclables for treatment, and then after treatment are packaged as raw materials. These raw materials are sent to factories for production. Non-recyclable wastes by-pass this step and are delivered straight to landfill. Liquid and hazardous wastes are delivered to treatment plants to become less hazardous to the public and environment.

Disposal / Recycling is the disposal of non recyclables into landfill. Landfill sites must be approved by legal authorities. Legal authorities guarantee that specific wastes are buried at the correct depth to avoid hazardous chemicals entering the soil, water tables, water systems, air, and pipe systems.

In this step the raw materials made from recyclables are produced and sold as products on the market. Companies can purchase such products to further sustain the environment and natural resources.

In conclusion, waste management is a science that addresses the logistics, environmental impact, social responsibility, and cost of an organization’s waste disposal. It is a detailed process that involves human resources, vehicles, government bodies, and natural resources.
